Nicholas Sparks
Born December 31, 1965, in Omaha Nebraska. His father is Patrick Sparks a college professor, and his mom Jill Sparks a homemaker. As a child Nicholas would move around a lot with his family. He moved to multiple places until his family finally stayed in Fair Oaks, California. He then went on to Notre Dame for college on a full track scholarship, he had to stop running track after an Achilles tendon injury. While he rested and tried to get better over the summer he began writing, he wrote his first novel that went unpublished. He moved back to California after his mothers death where he wrote another novel that went unpublished. His first break as a writer happened when he partnered with Billy Mills and wrote a novel with him. After not making much money Nicholas wanted to become a writer and he said he'd write three more novels. If none of them went unpublished he would stop writing and move on. In June 1994, he started writing a book that would become The Notebook. He found an agent who found a publisher that helped him get his book published. This began Nicholas's career as a writer that he has continued to do today.
